Family Escapes in Fantastic France

France is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world, so much so that even the French choose to stay put for their family holidays! Youíll find most places are overwhelmingly child friendly, making your biggest challenge simply choosing where to go and what to do whilst youíre there! After reading this, I think youíll find it difficult to find one reason not to go to France!

You may decide that some regions deserve your undivided attention, such as Provence or Brittany, both have the idyllic coastlines, activities in abundance, medieval castles and Roman ruins. But what is so fantastic about France, is the ease in which you can combine two or three regions in one holiday, sandwiching a few days on the Normandy coast, followed by some walking and rafting in the Pyrenees, finished with some beach fun on the Atlantic or Mediterranean coasts.

Disney world aside, Paris is a city brimming with child-friendly attractions, from the Eiffel Tower, attracting 6.8 million visitors each year! To the interactive science museum at Parc de la Villette. Or the most visited museum in the world, the Louvre is sure worth a visit to admire the original Mona Lisa and countless other fascinating exhibitions. There is a fabulous selection of wildlife parks to discover too, such as the Zoo Parc de Beauval in the Loire Valley, as well as the Reserve Africaine de Sigean, home to 3,800 exotic animals!

France doesnít have to necessarily be a summer holiday either. A visit to Tignes for a French Alps Ski holiday is the perfect getaway to break the winter up, this area is justly known as the most beautiful skiing area in the world. Tignes is also great for all abilities, so if your children have never skied before, this is the time for them to give it a go!

France offers world class hotels, but if you want the opportunity to try something new, you could potentially enjoy a stay in a tepee, a charming gypsy caravan or even a traditional yurt! There are also endless self-catering holiday cottages or apartments to choose from for an easy, tranquil stay, as well being something to suit every taste and wallet! Wherever you look there are child friendly hotels in France everywhere you look!

France benefits from excellent transport links, including toll roads to help avoid traffic congestion, frequent and well equipped service stations, high speed rail and extensive standard rail links. As well as being over 475 airports throughout the country, the French are brilliant at providing family-friendly facilities whether this be at a holiday resort, country club or your very own private holiday accommodation. There are outstanding recreational family holidays in France to be found if the obvious choices arenít to your taste. From world class surf breaks, to world class camp sites, it is able to offer something for everyone. If youíre simply after a relaxing holiday in an idyllic location, there are numerous high class golf and country clubs, particularly in the Dordogne Valley providing easy access to the popular attractions as well as the expected facilities such as swimming pools and tennis courts.

Hopefully this has whet your appetite on just a touch of the famous attractions France has to offer your family, itís little wonder why France is ranked as the number one holiday destination and definitely an experience not to be missed.
