The Harbour City, Sydney, was founded in 1788 and is the oldest European settlement in all of Australia. Sydney City Centre

This bustling centre is home to the world renowned Sydney Opera House. This iconic building was opened on October 20, 1973 by none other than the Queen of Australia, Elizabeth II. It features performances by the Australian Ballet and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

The Royal Botanic Gardens was established in 1816, and covers 30 hectares with over 7,500 unique species of plants. This beautiful piece of paradise overlooks Sydney Harbour and is located at the north-east corner of the centre.

Darling Harbour

This outstanding district of Sydney is the largest precinct for tourism and features the Pyrmont Bridge. This pedestrian swing bridge connects the two sides of the inlet and includes fountains, playgrounds and free attractions.

From Darling Harbour you can catch a boat to whale watch or see native wildlife in Sydney Wildlife World. The Sydney Aquarium features numerous display tanks and glass underwater walkways that allow visitors to see stunning aquatic life in its natural habitat.

The Rocks

The Rocks is the historical precinct of Sydney and features a fully preserved, first colonel village of Sydney. It also includes the Rocks Market with over 150 stalls filled with indigenous art, jewelry and cultural foods.

The Rocks is also home to Australia’s iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge which connects the Rocks and North Sydney. Features of this bridge include picnics under it, walking over it, climbing to the Pylon Outlook and a three hour hike to the top arch of the bridge.
