Follow the main ridge and you will eventually reach the blue sea after long and arduous trekking. The climate here is varied so pack for all sorts of occasions since the range divides the colder continental northern climate from the heat of the south. Amazing panoramic views are available making that climb worthwhile and you can even visit a National Park amid the mountains. See historic sites of international significance as well as rare and endangered species of wildlife as you explore.
The cities boast a lively nightlife and Sofia is the capital where you can stumble into quaint local stores, absorb the peaceful atmosphere inside churches, admire beautiful architecture and eat in wonderful restaurants, rounding things off by sitting back with a glass of wine.
